The legislation concerning the operation of contractors in any industry is a complex issue, with the current government tightening the law on a regular basis.
We, at Cathedral, have a wealth of knowledge and experience in this area and can guide contractors through the minefield that is known as IR35. This ranges from reading and advising on the content of current contracts and giving our clients suggestions as to which terms and conditions need amending.
We, at Cathedral, deal with approx 70-80 contractors at the present time and regularly keep the contractors updated as to the tax implications of the different ways of paying themselves i.e the split between remuneration and dividends.
We also have expertise in dealing with contractor disputes with the Inland Revenue, having recently won an IR35 case in front of the General Tax Commissioners.
